How to guide a cat to use the litter box?
Cat excretion is always a headache for owners, especially when using the dining table or bed as a place for excretion, the foul smell is enough to make people angry. Domestic cat domestication advocates the use of cat litter, which not only removes bacteria, but also has the effect of removing odors. However, cats are not born with cat litter and must be trained to learn.
1.Pick a large litter box. Kittens can get into very small boxes, but they grow so fast that it won’t be long before you have to change boxes. If you’re going to change boxes, then you’ll have to retrain the kittens, so it’s best to start with one that will last a long time.
2. Place the litter tray in a dry, ventilated and relatively quiet place to avoid being disturbed when it uses the toilet. Secondly, don’t put the litter box very close to its dining area, because this will also affect its appetite, cats are smart little guys, and they can naturally distinguish between good and bad taste.
3.The litter tray should be placed in a fixed place, and then slowly guide the cat to familiarize itself with the litter table, you can gently pat it to make it familiar with the taste, and let it understand that it is the place to go to the toilet.
4.When it is found that the cat begins to excrete, parents should immediately carry it to the litter box, guide the cat to smell the smell of poop or urine and remember it after excretion, and then assist them to cover the excrement with cat litter, so as to form a complete process. The next time the cat wants to excrete, the parents will also guide it like a concoction, and after a period of training, they will develop a good habit of using the litter box.
5. In the process of training, parents should not be in a hurry, even if the cat quickly learns to use the litter box, but occasionally will make some small mistakes, maybe one day and pee at will. At this time, do not scold and reprimand them, because the cat’s self-esteem is very strong, and too harsh will cause it to be hostile, and it will not obey you in the future.

6.Clean the entire litter box frequently. You’ll need to empty the litter box and wash it thoroughly several times a week. Once the box is emptied, you can wash it with a non-toxic detergent (or mild soapy water), dry it with a paper towel, and refill it with clean cat litter.
7.Feed the cat regularly every day. This helps you predict when the kitten will have a bowel movement. Cats will want to defecate 20 minutes after feeding. If you find it convenient, carry it to the side of the box and let it climb in. You’ll need to spend a couple of weeks training your kitten to use cat litter.
Cat owners should also try to communicate with them in this process, telling them that they are very smart and great, encouraging and praising more, and giving some snacks appropriately is also a good way. Repeatedly, the cat will quickly learn how to use the litter tray on its own!
